Statement on behalf of the Japan Association for Social Policy Studies (JASPS) concerning the Russian Federation’s unprovoked war on Ukraine

2022-03-17

Statement on behalf of the Japan Association for Social Policy Studies
(JASPS) concerning the Russian Federation’s unprovoked war on Ukraine

Representative of JASPS Makoto ISHII

We unequivocally condemn the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine.
This act of aggression has resulted in a large and growing number of
innocent civilian casualties, military casualties and millions of
displaced refugees. The daily life of Ukrainian people, especially the
lives of children, the elderly, and people with disabilities who need
social support have been torn apart and traumatized. We cannot
tolerate this act of unprovoked aggression. We call upon President
Putin to announce an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of the Russian
army.
